Run and Shoot Lacrosse was formed by the then Head Coach of Yale University Men’s Lacrosse Mike Waldvogel and his assistant coach at the time, Jamie Munro. Originally it was named IV Lacrosse camps, due to the fact that Both Mike and Jamie were coaching in the Ivy League when this program was developed. With some amazing vision and dedication Run and Shoot Lacrosse quickly became the premier lacrosse development program. During the Late 90’s and early 2000’s, Darryl Delia joined the staff at Yale Lacrosse as well as Run and Shoot with Mike and Jamie. The highlight of each summer was the Run and Shoot Camp that used to be held at Roger Williams University during July each summer.
The Staff that Run and Shoot Lacrosse assembled was an amazing array of very well respected and talented coaches such as Former Longtime Harvard Coach Scott Anderson, Former Air Force Head Coach Fred Acee, Former Georgetown Head Coach Dave Urick, and Former Bucknell Head Coach Sid Jamieson. Also on staff during the Run and Shoot days were some very recognized names that are now head coaches throughout the country. Some of those coaches who used to work Run and Shoot Camps were, Andy Towers, Lars Tiffany, Tom McIntee, Jake Reed, Jeff Goldberg, Billy Wilson, Bear Davis and many more talented and well respected coaches were a part of the Run and Shoot Coaching family.
Around the year 2000 Jamie Munro took the Position of Head Coach at Denver University and Run and Shoot started to branch off and bring those same talented and dedicated coaches on the road and Start Regionally run camps and clinics throughout the US. Overtime throughout the years each of the coaches that ran Run and Shoot lacrosse drifted away from what was successful at the time which was developing talent from the ground up. Jamie Munro Started 3d Lacrosse out in Denver and that has become a very successful program one that has had him leave RSL and run his programs. We have decided to get back to basics and return to “Teaching” Lacrosse players how to play lacrosse. Rather than just having them play games all the time.
The re-forming of Run and Shoot lacrosse regional camps kicked back off in the Winter of 2013, getting back out on the trail and resume what worked so well for so long. Joining our staff as a full time director is Timothy McIntee who will be in charge of developing and running regional instructional clinics throughout the US and Canada. Mike Waldvogel and Darryl Delia will also be involved in regional clinics, but will also concentrate on Tournament development which has been highly successful to date.
The Run and Shoot brand has always been respected and will continue to strive to get back to basics. Stay tuned for news about Run and Shoot Lacrosse coming to your town in the future.
